The first Wednesday of the month has come around again. Already? I had to double check the calendar. I could have sworn black and blue I just did an Insecure Writers Support Group Post. Having confirmed that yes, September is here – yeah for spring in the southern hemisphere – here we go again, rocking the neurotic world of writing with another fantastic IWSG post.
The fabulous August McLaughlin gave me an idea this month. She wanted to know when we feel loved and it had me thinking about love in a writing format.
How do write about love? How do you express love and does your own experiences with this nebulous feeling shape your writing about relationships?
I am extremely insecure when writing about love, romance and the whole boy girl thing. ( Or girl girl boy boy thing.) I wonder if it is easier to write about a rocky love than a blissful one. I think the difficult love might provide a wider platform at the very least. The drama we need to go up and down in our story arches can be seen in many of the worlds more dynamic love affairs and probably in your own too. I admit I avoid writing about love, but now that I am starting on my new story, the married couple I need to express all the various aspects of love, good or bad and I fear I will struggle. I’ve never, I stress never, been successful with this mysterious love thing.
Have you written about love and relationships?
