Has this happened to you. You’ve written a scene that you love. It’s everything you wanted it to be and you’re thrilled. Then you read a book and there, jumping up at you and hitting you in the face, is a scene eerily similar.
This happened to me just this week. I was gobsmacked. It’s not a common setting or theme either. I hadn’t read it before writing, but afterwards. Talk about frustrating.
